THE OLDEST NATIONAL HOT ROD CHAMPIONSHIP, 1300cc STOCK CARS GOING FOR GOLD AND MORE! YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS IT...
Standby for the weekend of the year at Staffordshire's Hednesford Hills Raceway as for the first time in a decade, the 1300cc Stock Cars Championship of the World heads to the 1/4 miler alongside the infamous 75-lap National Hot Rods National Championship as well as some great plans for the Stock Rods.
So, what can you expect as the home of Hot Rod racing plays host to a festival atmosphere like no other...
Friday:- PRACTICE
Drivers getting that all-important track time, with all eyes on the sport's big names as they dial in their cars ahead of the weekend's racing.
After Practice has concluded, it's one of the best social events of the year - as drivers, teams and race fans descend on the Bromford Bar for a night of fun.
Saturday:- 1300 STOCK CAR CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD plus National Championship QUALIFYING
First held at the Raceway in 2015, the Championship of the World returns to the Hednesford Hills a decade later in 2025 - with one of the formulas seeing a huge entry across the board in the season so far.
2024 saw Scottish driver Darren Rae take the gold roof in front of his home crowd up at Lochgelly after a fast and frantic race with bumperwork throughout the field as you'd expect from these armoured hatchbacks. Cut to this year and it really is an open competition - standby for bumpers to clang, plenty of thrills, spills and potentially some controversy on the way.
These are battle-scarred warriors carrying heavy offensive and defensive steel armouring, where full contact racing is most definitely the name of the game: top action, big crashes and spectacular racing! Standby for one of the most high-octane formulas on the ovals with some true Stock Car racing!
After the racing, it's once again time to head to the Bromford Bar as drivers, teams and race fans debrief on the day's proceedings.
Sunday:- National Championship FINALS day
Sunday: the grids are set, the time for talking is done. It's time to crown two National Champions across the National Hot Rods and Stock Rods as well as the Internations Cup for the 1300cc Stock Cars.
The National Hot Rods bring a huge level of anticipation in 2025 - with the new breed of high-speed race cars well and truly making their mark when it comes to major titles. Will it be a Mazda, Ginetta, Lotus, Ford or Vauxhall taking the win? It’s an open field with some of the best drivers in the formula descending on the home of Hot Rod racing for this, the oldest title in the formula’s history, first won by Martin Morris 60 years ago in 1964.
Man of the moment #17 Rob McDonald will be looking to do the National - World double after he equalled Ormond Christie's 5 World titles at Spedeweekend. If he takes another major, he becomes the most successful National Hot Rod driver of all time based on title tally - beating the likes of Barry Lee, Duffy Collard, George Polley and plenty more legends of our sport.
Moving to the Stock Rods, so often the star of National Weekend, and it's an open playing field. Hatchbacks which on the road are used to go to the shops, but when they take to the Spedeworth/Incarace ovals provide some of the closest racing seen on the Spedeworth/Incarace ovals! These race prepped and highly-competitive cars are one of the most evenly matched when it comes to car spec - meaning spectators can look forward to side by side, wheelarch to wheelarch racing from these fast and furious racers.
