It is with great sadness that Spedeworth/Incarace Motorsports and Oval Track Legends announce that John Hudson passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning 3rd November, 2019.
Many will know and remember John in his #65 Legend as being one of the first drivers to race in Oval Track Legends, he became the longest serving driver in the formula. He was an active driver, even for the last few meetings of this year. Despite retiring in 2018, John was still keen to race with a formula he loved, and raced at Lochgelly in August and Aldershot in September.
Last year, John stepped into the full time role of Technical Inspector and became a valid part of the team – his expertise was greatly appreciated by everyone.
John will always be remembered for being an incredibly nice person to know and talk to, a great sportsman - always offering help and advice to the other drivers and a committed driver, not often getting the results he would wish for but he enjoyed his racing immensely.
Our thoughts are with Sue, Tim, Robert and Emma and all the family at this very sad and difficult time. Oval Track Legends will miss him tremendously, it’s difficult to put in to words the great contribution he made.
Further details regarding the funeral will be announced as soon as they are available from John’s family, giving everyone ample opportunity to pay their respects to one of the short oval’s greatest drivers on and off the track – a true gentleman and a legend!
