There is already a lot of interest in the 'Royal Day' Bride & Groom Bangers at Birmingham Wheels on Friday 29th April 2011.
We can now confirm the rules for the event.
The racing will consist of two events with the lady driving and the man as passenger, and one race having the male driving and the female as passenger. The overall winning 'couple' will be decided on points scored over the 3 races.
Cars are to be built to Incarace Banger specification (formerly 'rookie' bangers), but with a drivers door plate on both sides of the car. Both driver and passenger seat must have head restraint and full race harness etc fitted to ORCi specifications. The passenger side front door can be welded as per the drivers door but please bear in mind that it cannot be used at another meeting unless the strengthening can be easily removed.
As we are aware that a number of experienced lady racers are wishing to take part, ladies with significant racing experience will be asked to start one lap down in the 2 races where they are at the wheel. As we obviously will not know all the lady racers, we would request that people are honest about their previous racing experience when booking in so we can assess who should start where!
Lady drivers will not be charged for day licences for this meeting.
Reliant Robins are also on the programme for this one along with Brisca F2 Stock Cars and the Ministox Midland Championship.
Drivers can book in via the Spedeworth office on 01252 322920.
