SUNDAY AFTERNOON STOCK CAR AND BANGER RACING
Aldershot Raceway is the perfect place to experience an afternoon of oval motorsport this Sunday, with the next of the Team 3litre sponsored events: it’s time for the Handshaker. We also welcome the Superstox back to the venue for the Brian Street Trophy as well as the stars of Banger racing in the future with the Junior Bangers.
The Handshaker features Unlimited CC cars of all sorts of shapes and sizes taking to the Rushmoor tarmac, with the event throwing up plenty of odd motors in previous runnings. There is - hence the name - a real focus on good vibes at the event with plenty of action expected. It’s always a great sight to see a pack of the big cars thundering around the Aldershot venue, and we look forward to seeing the efforts of all drivers to see what cars they turn out!
Fresh from an entertaining night competing for the English Championship in East Anglia at Ipswich, this week the open-wheelers head South to Aldershot for the Brian Street Trophy - in memory of our much-missed colleague. Brian was involved with Spedeworth in various capacities for countless years, and the Superstox class will be racing in his honour this Sunday.
The class have been competing across Spedeworth for decades, but remain just as entertaining - watch out for drivers using the bumper to push competitors aside, with the more experienced higher grade drivers starting at the rear of the grid. We wish them all luck in this special event.
Completing the lineup are the Junior Bangers. These MOT failures - mostly Nissan Micras - are stripped out and race-prepared before being handed to 11-15 year old drivers. So many drivers have gone on to big things in the adult classes, and this training ground provides great entertainment.
So, brace yourself for a day filled with roaring engines, screeching tires and heart-pounding action as drivers from far and wide descend on the Hampshire venue. Whether you're a die-hard motorsport fan or simply seeking an exhilarating experience for the whole family, this is an event you won't want to miss...
