SCHOOL’S OUT AT BRAFIELD,,,
The future of oval racing certainly looks bright with almost 100 11-15 year olds taking to the Northampton shale this Saturday night, not forgetting the finale of Caravan Figure of 8 Destruction Derby!
It’s the perfect night out at the ever-developing Northamptonshire venue - with a new seated grandstand (additional charge applies) as well as new toilets and a new bar.

Caravan Figure of 8 Destruction Derby
A family favourite! If you’ve ever been stuck behind a caravan on a long drive, this one is for you. Watch as these mobile homes are destroyed in front of you - with daredevil Banger drivers taking to the Figure of 8 circuit, making for breathtaking moments on the crossover!
This will be the final event of the night, but there’s so much more in this packed event.
National Ministox - British Championship
One of the most entertaining classes on the ovals: it’s the National Ministox. These youngsters are competing for the 2024 British Championship on Saturday, with over 40 cars booked in to race for the title. Look out for the big names - who are already oval racing stars in their own right - battling their way to the front of the grid using the steel bumper to push competitors aside.

Junior Bangers
What an entry it is for the stars of Banger racing in the future, with almost 60 cars booked in. These MOT failures - mostly Nissan Micras - are stripped out and race-prepared before being handed to 11-15 year old drivers. So many drivers have gone on to big things in the adult classes, and this training ground provides great entertainment.
Back to Basics Bangers
Completing the lineup are the Back to Basic Bangers. A Northampton favourite, these drivers always enjoy an outing on the shale with plenty of skidding, spinning and sliding from these easily prepared cars.
So, what an evening of racing it’s going to be at Northampton. The first race starts at 4:30pm - arrive well before this to avoid missing a thing…
