2.0 Hot Rods

Heat 1 - 146 Scott Morgan, 39, 565, 310, 65, 8, 101, 338, 29, 77.

13 starters for the opener after 475 had problems in practice. 338 led the early stages, then 77 who left a gap with a lap and a half to go, 537 dived in and spun him out and was docked 2 as was 310 for spinning out 38 in the new Toyota, 146 Scott Morgan assumes the win after crossing the line in 3rd!

Heat 2 - 65 Mark Willis, 565, 39, 101, 146, 77, 475, 338, NOF.

A controversial heat 2 with 475 Paul Kaynes led but 77 takes over, 8 caught 77 and as he tries to pass 77 spins out on the pit bend causing chaos! 8 is not docked initially and takes the win, with the steward investigating the incident, and after video review 8 is disqualified handing the win to 65 Mark Willis. Spare a thought for 77 who has been spun out in both races.

Final - 39 Rick Pannell, 146 Scott Morgan, 310 Sean O'Leary, 565, 537, 101, 338, NOF.

The controversy doesn't stop for the 2.0 Hot Rods Final - 475 led then yellows out for 38 in wall and 475 gets the black flag for overtaking the Pace Car. 77 leads now. 8 nearly spins 310 which may have caught out 65 who takes in 8 on the Hailsham turn causing a stoppage. 39 Rick Pannell catches and passes 77 from the restart, Owen's back axle fell out in a shower of sparks and he ended up parked by pit gate bringing the reds and chequered out as it was the final lap. Some great entertainment from the Hot Rods tonight but there will certainly be some hafty repair bills on the way.

Rookie Rods

Heat 1 (drawn grid) - 747 Matt Farren, 144, 196, 579, 382, 212, 70, 278, 121, 506.

20 cars for the first heat with 747 Matt Farren pulling away from pole. A bit of water went down on pit bend sending them all sliding for a couple of laps. 747 gets stuck among backmarkers and 144 caught him with 2 to go but 747 held on.

Heat 2 (Reverse Grid) - 135 Dan Knight, 70, 579, 212, 174, 177, 311, 306, 121, 278.

More controversy in the Rookie Rod heat 2, 650 George Fitkin led 135 Dan Knight on his outside but 650 edged him wide, 650 then getting back in front but wasn't holding a good line despite blue flags and he got blue and white and then black flag with a lap to go for not holding his line, Dan Knight taking the win.

Sussex Championship - 212 John Smith, 70 Becca Dance, 135 Dan Knight, 144, 506, 382, 278, 121, 86, 196.

579 leads from pole, the returning 212 John Smith (also defending champion) caught him and appears to nudge him towards the fence, getting a black cross, 212 takes the flag ahead of a 3 car battle for 2nd - again the Steward is viewing video evidence and 212 keeps the win to retain his title as the rain starts falling.

Bangers

Heat 1 - 106 Darren Terry, 50, 426, 271, 535, 228, 529, 431, 250, 283.

27 cars and a relatively quiet apart from a home straight pile up the rest of the field had to negotiate all race! It's form man 106 Darren Terry who follows up his two wins from Aldershot on Sunday with another tonight!

Heat 2 - 51 Harry Balchin, 228, 529, 739, 131, 194, 883, NOF.

An excellent heat 2 for the Bangers with 20 starters, 194 Cecil with a big hit on 773 who was in the wall, then a big pile up with action everywhere! 51 wins despite having an inside front puncture for nearly the whole race in his prehistoric Honda!

Final - 271 James Vockins, 194 Steve Anscombe, 131 Pete Hanmer, 283, 883, 535, NOF.

Another quality race from the Bangers rounds up a top night at Arlington, 702 with a full roll and lots of action elsewhere, the pick of which was 250 Dave Preston with a big hit to 431 Justin Hanmer, Janes Vockins taking the win.
