Conditions were certainly not at their best for the annual Winternationals event at Wimbledon Stadium on New Years Day. The drivers all deserve great credit for putting on a good show in what amounted to a monsoon!!!

A good turn-out of Bangers made their way to Plough Lane for the first round of the Banger Track Championship which benefits from generous sponsorship from Matrix Office Services http://www.matrixoffice.com/

Heat wins went to 106 Darren Terry and 167 Jimmy Morris before the drivers took to the track for their final. Cars were sliding everywhere all day and the final was no exception as the drivers struggled to find grip on the saturated Wimbledon tarmac. It was 104 Shane Bird who best mastered the conditions to take a fine victory from 426 Mark Pope and Heat One winner 106 Darren Terry.
