Dale Hughes is World Champion!
Spedeworth’s #27 Dale Hughes took the 2016 National Banger Unlimited World Title at a packed Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich on Saturday evening.
We would like to congratulate Dale on becoming a third time Unlimited National Banger World Champion with #25 Jo Parsons second, #348 Sonny Sherwood third and #528 Alan ‘Jethro’ Hunt in Fourth in what was an incredible action packed World Final consisting of some incredible cars, hits and high speed action!


Once again, congratulations to Dale Hughes on the win and all the Qualified and Supporting Drivers who contributed in making it another memorable night in the history of Spedeworth Banger Racing!

Spedeworth / Incarace would like to thank everyone for making the 2016 Unlimited National Bangers World Championship a huge success.

The weather on Saturday tried to dampen our spirits at times but the determination of everyone involved and the skill of the drivers showed how fantastic short oval racing can be and fortunately the evening allowed for superb racing action.

We would like to thank all of the sponsors who supported the 2016 World Championship and hope they enjoyed the experience with us, namely MTM Plant Hire, The Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom Centre, Goldstar Transport, Whip St Motors, Lynch Plant Hire and Sackers Recycling.

Thank you to all you Race Fans who came to support your favourite drivers. from the advanced ticket sales calls to the smiling faces that greeted us at the turnstiles Saturday Afternoon, the amount of Race Fans who travel from far and wide to visit our Foxhall Heath Stadium, Ipswich your commitment to our sport is fantastic to see and we would like to thank each and every one of you for filling the stadium with happy faces and joining in the fun as the evening flew by and we can’t wait to see everyone again in the near future.

A World Championship would not be the event it is without the drivers. Over 230 drivers raced at this year’s meeting and if you had time to walk around the pits it truly is a sight to see with so many different amazing amounts of car preparation and drivers all looking forward to the prospect of lifting a trophy. Just like the Race Fans we appreciate that some drivers travel long distances to join us and whether you travelled from overseas or five minutes down the road, we cannot thank you enough for putting on a superb show over all the races and you all proved that come rain or shine that short oval motor racing is one of the best sports in the world! Fantastic racing from you all ……Thank You.

There are so many people involved in the planning and organising the 2016 Event behind the scenes and within the public eye and it would be impossible to name them all. That been said we would like to say thank you to each and every one of you. Thank you to all the staff who make the Meeting happen on and off the race track at the Stadium. Thank you to all the race officials, presenters, catering staff, security, trophy girls + Timmy The Tyre, turnstile and car parking staff as well as the Medical Teams and Business Clean who keep the stadium looking sparkling with litter picking and toilet cleaning for all your hard work in making the evening run so smoothly and produce such an excellent show on our behalf.
