The Golden Oldies National Banger meeting takes place at Ipswich on Saturday 20th July - originally an all Jag meeting in the overs and an all Rootes meeting in the unders, it was changed earlier this year to Pre 80 in both unders and overs at the request of drivers. We are now able to confirm that the Nissan 300 can also be used in the overs class although they are not pre 1980.

Just to confirm the format: All Pre 80 Unlimited (no XJ series Jags or Granadas, any mk.10 / 420G Jags / DS420 permitted on original running gear only, Nissan 300 permitted), plus All Pre 80 under 1800cc (no Cortinas / Capris), with Classic Hot Rods supporting. Anyone wanting to race anything else which is post 1980 please let us know - if the car is considered to be within the spirit of the meeting then it may be permitted, but ONLY with prior permission at which point we would announce if a specific type of car is allowed.

Also, for 2014, this meeting will be an all Japanese meeting, pre 1984, unders and overs. We will announce specifics in due course as well as the date (likely to be same weekend), but for now just to confirm the unders will be 4 cylinder rear wheel drive only though we are looking at allowing some of the less competitive front wheel drive cars in too. In the overs Supras will NOT be permitted. Nissan / Datsun Laurels will be in the overs.
