Don’t miss a packed weekend of on-track Stock Car racing and off-track socialising this weekend at Northampton: with the big weekend back at Brafield for 2024 after a hiatus to Mildenhall last year.
Let's start looking by at the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars where Tom Harris is certainly the man to beat at the moment, with the defending European Champion returning to the venue of his 2023 World Final win and looking for his sixth victory in the race for the red and yellow chequereds. A great entry of cars will be out to stop him, though, with some drivers looking to add another title to their tally, and some looking to get their name on the Roll of Honour for the first time.
25 European Championship laps will be the decider, with a strong entry of Dutch drivers such as shale ace H229 Tsjalle Greidanus looking to make their mark on proceedings - could the trophy be heading back to the Mainland?
Big names such as ex-champions #515 Frankie Wainman and #97 Ryan Harrison also feature on the entry list, or could it finally be #16 Matt Newson's time to get his hands on a major? Watch out for #138 Dave Polley too, he will be looking for his first title since switching from the F2 class. Who will it be? We’ll find out on Sunday, and don’t miss out on a frantic battle for points throughout the weekend.
The BriSCA F2 Stock Cars are always entertaining at Northampton, and the traditional random grid draw has pushed many huge moments in the illustrious history of the championship. The grid will be made up of the top 22 UK drivers from the National Points who managed to secure a booking before the deadline, alongside the top 8 Dutch drivers - including defending champion H186 Ricardo Schmidt - and the top 6 points scorers from Saturday’s racing. Who will the luck of the draw be with? Head to the Pit Office at 10am on Sunday to watch as drivers pick their grid slot before the big race at 12pm.
A fantastic entry of quality drivers are set to descend on the Brafield venue - with the likes of #7 Gordon Moodie, #183 Charlie Guinchard and H124 Wim Peeters all on the entry list.
As European Championship Weekend returns to its spiritual home at the special Brafield venue this Saturday and Sunday, the BriSCA F1 and F2 Stock Cars will be competing for their respective Bev Greenhalf Internations Cup Trophies in memory of the legendary commentator who's voice was synonymous with not only the venue but our wonderful sport. Before his passing in 2012, his career of 4 decades made those spectacular races into even more special memories, and Bev will always be known as a legend of our sport.
Completing the lineup are the Saloon Stock Cars: the all-action formula who aren’t scared of getting stuck in with bumper. These armoured cars often deliver spectacular moments, and we are thrilled that they are joining the party for Saturday and Sunday!
So, don’t miss this pure Stock Car spectacular which takes place at the venue which has featured many upgrades since the last European Weekend. One thing which won’t change is a true festival atmosphere at the event, with a party on Saturday night in the new bar - we hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. It’s almost time to say “let’s go racing!”
