Spedeworth / Incarace would like to make the following statement regarding the issues with parking in the local area of Hednesford Hills Raceway for the Civil War event.
Since the event and following discussions and meetings with the local authorities we feel the need to stress to everyone the importance we have with working with the local community to ensure a happy relationship between them and the raceway.
At Civil War additional car parking was kindly supplied by Hednesford Town FC to try and help the event with parking.
Unfortunately, some race fans (once our main car parks were full) chose not to use this option or the town centre and park on the local roads and ignoring the no waiting / parking cones which are positioned around the surrounding roads.
This problem was also escalated by cars parking on a local playing field which was illegal to do so.
We received various complaints about cars parked blocking residents driveways, double parking and race fans being abusive to local residents when asked to move on. This is not acceptable and risks the future running of the raceway.
We would ask in future that all race fans respect the local area surrounding the raceway and not park inconsiderately or in areas which are illegal to do so.
Discussion with the local authorities are ongoing to try and find further solutions and more additional parking to aid with this problem but, we have to play our part too as the stock car family so please be mindful of parking before you do so to prevent risking the future of the raceway.
