I had the privelage to meet "Mr Stock Car" way back in 1963 and was immediately impressed by his enthusiastic nature. Over the years, I have never ever seen him anything else, but smiling. My memories of him will never be forgotten.

R.I.P.Les and THANK YOU for so many years of happy memories. I grew up a 'Spedeworth Baby' and first got grit thrown at me upon the shoulder of my dad at Arlington, Cross In Hand and occasionally Ipswich. I remember the days of Lee v Polley v Collard, the fox on top of Stock Car no70, 226 Eddie George and that old rogue 216 Ted Harris (the Banger roll over man). I still love all the old theme tunes and am almost brought to tears sometimes when I think of how much I miss those old days. This is how much what you created has meant to me. Lots of love to the family and Les, give my regards to the best starting marshall Spedworth ever had, Ted Weaver. God Bless you Les. |
